SNAP BADMINTON CLUB

Every Tuesday the research group puts the keyboards to one side, chucks the GPS receivers into the corner and prepares to do battle. Make no mistake this is not just your run of the mill social gathering, after all this is Australia and sport is just not sport, its war! All for one and one for all is the spirit of the game, strap yourself down as we go through the heroes who play this highly competitive, spine twisting, bone crunching game we call badminton.

Chen, Horng-Yue
"You will die "

Extremely aggressive and intense player, very keen on any shot that has a smashing opportunity. In fact we are sure a couple of them have broken the sound barrier.

Chen attributes aggressive playing style to the lack of smoko breaks during the game.

 
 
 
Mike, Moore "the grip"

The frustrated beginner, still trying to work out why a double backhand is not a good idea in badminton. Often needs to have the match stopped to have various rules explained in detail.

 

 

 
 
 
Liwen, Dai "are you ready?"

Uses the same badminton school of thought as the guru Horng-Yue Chen, smash it and they will die!

Has a quick serve, and often gets in before you've turned around for the next point.
 

 

 
 

Linlin, Ge  "the grand master"

Has a very good all round technique
Is often seen smiling mainly due to the fact he is often winning. 
He is currently working on the development of potential new SNAP badminton players.
 

 

 
 
Jinling, Wang "wombat"

Very quick to the ball.
Gets great pleasure in any smash he can pull off.
 

 

 
 
 
 
Jun, Zhang "hungry hippo"

Has great power, control and placement of the shuttle.
Likes to take the centre of the court, grab as much of the action as possible and take control of the game.

 

 

 
 
 
Toshiaki, Tsujii "the patient teacher"

Placement coupled with a minimum of movement along with his calm and collected demeanor he is able to ward of the best 'smash attack'. Watch out for his sneaky drop shots.
Has taken up the habit of bringing his own support crew to a match, with another one due in the next couple of days!

 

 

 
 
 
Ying, He "smiley"

Posses a broad skill base and is able to master all areas of the game to take on the toughest of opposition.
Always has a smile on her face, but if you smash it at her, you'll hear about it.

 

 

 
 
Jason, Jinqing Wang "chameleon"

Pay close attention to the shuttle cock when you play against the master of deception, it will never go in the direction you expect.
