Admission Criteria

Master of Engineering Science

Applicants for the MEngSc programs should have a four-year Bachelor degree in a relevant field from a recognised tertiary institution, with an averaged credit level of 65% or better in the last two years of the program.

Graduate Diploma

To obtain entry into GradDip programs a 55+ average in the final two years of the candidate's Bachelor degree is required. It is fairly common for those who wish to do an MEngSc program, but who do not satisfy the entry requirements, to enrol in the GradDip program, and on successfully completing 18 units of credit (3 courses), upgrade to the MEngSc with full transfer of units of credit towards the Masters degree.

Advanced Standing

Applicants who have completed, or who are currently undertaking postgraduate studies at UNSW or at another tertiary institution, may apply for these studies to be taken into account. At this stage, a maximum of 2 courses can be given as advanced standing towards their MEngSc or GradDip.

English Language Requirements

All programs at UNSW are taught in English. All applicants for admission to UNSW whose first language is not English must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the requirements for admission. Further information can be found on the UNSW website and UNSW International.
