Application Forms

Below are links to the local and international student application forms (you can also apply online). Postgraduate application forms are also available from the School of Surveying & Spatial Information Systems, email: survsis@unsw.edu.au.

Each Faculty manages its own PhD and Masters programs. Prospective local and international research students should therefore check with the Faculty of Engineering for specific entry requirements for the research program for which you are intending to apply.

Instructions on how to complete the form and where to send it are included on the form. International students seeking admission to postgraduate degrees of Doctor of Philosophy and Masters by research should contact the UNSW Graduate Research School.

Admission Criteria

PhD - Doctor of Philosophy

Applicants should hold an honours degree in an appropriate discipline from a tertiary institution recognised by UNSW. Applicants must choose a research area under the supervision of an academic staff member with expertise in that area.

ME - Master of Engineering or MPhil - Master of Philosophy

Applicants should hold an honours degree in an appropriate discipline from a tertiary institution recognised by UNSW. Applicants must choose a research area under supervision of an academic staff member.

English Language Requirements

All applicants for admission to UNSW whose first language is not English must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the requirements for admission. Further information can be found on the UNSW website and UNSW Graduate Research School.


Offer of Acceptance

An acknowledgment letter will be posted to you after your application is received by the Graduate Research School.

Successful applicants will be sent an offer letter and a reply form. The form must be completed and returned to the GRS office.
