Mia Garlick re-joined Gilbert + Tobin in March 2008, as a Lawyer in the Corporate, Communications and Technology Group after spending 5 years practising as an attorney in Silicon Valley, California. Mia has extensive experience in intellectual property, technology, contract and privacy law.
Most recently she worked at Google as the Product Counsel for YouTube advising on the copyright, privacy, contract and other legal issues that arose in relation to the video sharing site. Specifically, she advised on the rollout of YouTube’s industry-leading Video Identification tool and oversaw the localisation of the YouTube for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Mia started at Gilbert + Tobin as a paralegal in 1996 and worked in both the Corporate, Communications and Technology Group and Intellectual Property Group for 6 years.
She holds a Masters of Law from Stanford Law School (2003) and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law from UNSW (1998). |
