Brief Biography:

Tajul Ariffin Musa started his career as a tutor in Department of Geomatic Engineering, University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 1997, and was then appointed as a lecturer in 1998 after completed his Master Degree in UTM. His research focused on the Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS and investigating of the tropospheric delay in Tropical Regions.

Awards & Prizes:

1997: Awarded by the UTM to present his Master degree research at the Symp. on Satellite Navigation Technology & Applications, Sydney, Australia.

2002: Scholarship from The Government of Malaysia to undertake Ph.D. studies at The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

Interests:

Likes fishing and bowling.

Watershed Information System in Peninsular Malaysia (1997) - Head researcher.

The Development of Courseware for the Teaching & Learning of GPS Applications (1997).

Developing an Active GPS Station Based on Low Cost GPS Instrumentation (1997).

Development of Almanac J2000 (1998).

Development of Astronomical Multimedia Notes (2000) - Head researcher.

Global Praying Time (2000) - Head researcher .

Current Research:

Precise GPS-based kinematic positioning & navigation.

Network-based techniques ('Virtual Reference Station').

Estimation of tropospheric parameters from GPS techniques.
