Education:

  • Bachelor of Surveying (Melbourne University) 1979.
  • Licensed Surveyor 1982.
  • Master of Surveying Science (Melbourne University) 1984.
  • Master of Business Administration (RMIT) 1988.

Research Project:

ARC-Linkage project (industry partner: Leica Geosystems), on the use of Locata technology for deformation monitoring applications.

Work Experience:

  • Victorian Government,  8 years.
  • CRA (now Rio Tinto), 2 years.
  • Oakton Ltd, 13 years.

Achievements:

    • Three years on the board of IWL during a period of vigorous M&A activities until eventually CBA in turn took out IWL.
    • Round 1 investor in Facilitate Digital then worked with my board colleagues to list the company.
    • Grew Oakton from a 2 man operation to it present day position as listed company.
    • Executive director of Oakton Ltd (ASX:OKN   www.oakton.com.au).
    • Assisted in winning a contract with the NSW Police to develop an investigation management system, then worked with colleagues to take this unique system to the world market.
    • Introduced GPS into the Victorian surveying industry.
    • Consulted in information technology and business management to a range of major commercial and government clients taking pride in mastering the nuances of various of industry verticals.
    • Introduced the first election night management computer software in Victoria.
    • I was never really a career computer programmer, but some of my stuff is still used today.
