Research Interests

  • Geoid Determinations - Optimum evaluations of gravimetric geoids, computational configuration and gravity anomaly type. Combination of gravimetric geoid heights, GPS ellipsoidal heights and conventional levelling in height networks.
  • Geopotential Models - Optimum models for national geoid determinations. Tailoring of models to regional and local fields.

Professional Interests and Industrial Consulting

  • Consultant, to AusAID, for the geoid determinations needed for the Land Development Projects in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
  • Consultant to various Commonwealth and State Government Authorities, and to private industry, on precise geoid evaluations.
  • Consultant to Malaysian Government on the determination of the Malaysian Height Datum.
  • Editor-in-Chief, Geomatics Research Australasia (formerly The Australian Journal of Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Surveying; 1979 - present.
  • Co-Secretary, IAG Commission XII. "The International Geoid"
